Video Transcript for What to Know About the Dexter Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings

Today we're gonna take a look at the Titan 18 and 25/32 long hydraulic brake line with fittings. Now this 18 25/32 long hose will route the brake fluid from the master cylinder of your hydraulic brake actuator to the trailer brakes when used with additional lines and fittings. Now the lines and fittings are not included. Those you would have to purchase separately. We do sell them on our website, and they are usually listed on this product page as a related product. A nice flexible design of this hose makes it perfect for use with fold-away trailer tongues. The brake line is furnished with 3/8-inch by 24 UNF male and female fittings on the ends.

Now the male fitting will fit, threads into your actuator, and the female fitting here attaches to the first steel brake line in your brake system. I do wanna put a ruler on this just to give you an idea of the length. The length from the very end to the very end is right at 18 and 25/32 total length. That should do it for the review on the Titan 18 and 25/32 long hydraulic brake line with fittings.

by:

by:

Very nessasary for this installation, 18 inch worked perfect for my trailer, fittings where the correct ones, no problems.

I have ordered a few items from etrailer and they have had every part I've needed and had it delivered very quickly and are very quality parts I will return purchasing parts from etrailer

by:

Just what I needed to complete my new boat trailer brake installation.

by:

A little longer than the one I removed from my '92 CC boat trailer. Connections were right for the 3/16" lines. Got it quicker and cheaper than letting the local parts place order from their supplier.

by:

Just a brake line, but it was exactly what I needed. It fit correctly and is still working great!

by:

Product works. i totally understand why they don't want you reviewing shipping on here. Don't count on it being on time.

Ordered this brake hose, even though I thought it was 1-2" longer than my old one, turns out I'm not that good at measuring brake hoses. Fits perfect.

by:

I've order parts for converting my boat trailer with a swing out tonge. Looked on multiple sites and always ended up going to etrailer due to availability and price. Great place to look for trailer parts.

by:

Excellent product - exactly what I needed to replace my old flexible brake line. Even had the date stamped on it showing it was recently manufactured. Now I trust my brakes again!

by:

Very good service. They had just what I needed to replace my coupler/surge brake assembly. Exact fit replacement. Also the brake hose. High quality.

by:

Ordered two flexible brake lines to replace lines on sailboat trailer. Lines were identical to the originals, if not better. The shipping was prompt and I received the lines within 4 days at standard shipping rates.

by:

I ordered these brake lines to replace the flex lines on my Mastercraft Boat trailer. They arrived exactly as described and were perfect replacement lines. They threaded right into my calipers and connected to the hard lines on the trailer. They were exact matches for the original lines.

etrailer was excellent when ordering. They had several options for new lines. They reviewed each line and recommended these Titan lines. Overnight shipping arrived on time meaning I was able to fix trailer the same day.

by:

I was glad to find etrailer as I got into the task of fixing the surge brakes Ina 1986 Heritage boat trailer. I wound up needing to replace all the lines along withe the actuator. Etrailer was a great parts resource

by:

Perfect fit to a 27 yr old trailer

by:

What I needed. Looks of good quality.

by:

I am replacing all the 1/4" brake lines on my 48 Oldsmobile. Every auto store only can sell you a brake hose for the car instead of by length and tubing size. It is because they only know how to look up parts in their database and that is how it is set up. This is the only place I could tell them what size (tubing, type, size, and thread) and they said sure. Here is the part number. I got it in just a few days and it was exactly what I needed.

by:

I researched some great information from your web site. From that information I was able to determine the various manufactures of the surge brake parts on my old boat trailer and order rebuild kits and replacement parts. Thru your web site (and other online research) I was able to rebuild my old boat trailer suspension and braking system to new condition.

by:

fit like the OEM line. It didn't come with the retaining clip so I just used the original one.

by:

I needed a brake hose for my trailer and no one had one. I found etrailer.com and searched their site. I found a hose I thought might work. I called. Got Bill E. This man was most professional. We shared a couple quick jokes while he explained the part I was looking at. He helped me order it. It came exactly when he said that it would. The brake hose was an identical replacement piece. The picture I submitted shows the NEW hose. It was wonderful to work with such a professional company. I will be ordering from them (Bill) again. Thank you.

  • Replacement Surge Brake Parts for 2004 5 Starr Boat Trailer
It sounds like you have a Demco Actuator to me like # DM8104002. We also have one with a 4 inch drop # DM8104311. Both are Hydraulic Brake Actuators that are rated at 12,500lbs.,has a 2-5/16 inch ball, and bear the DA10 model number. I was able to look up your boat trailer and the parts used between packages varied. I can help you pick out Rotors, Lines, Calipers, and Pads if you can provide me with more information about the current items on the trailer. I will need the number of...

  • Restoring Brakes On A 1990s Boat Trailer
Hello Doug, thanks for reaching out. You will need to replace the current coupler with a surge brake actuator. For that I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator like part # DM72VR which is for drum brakes, a 2" ball and bolts to a 3" tongue. It has mounting holes 3" apart on center. Please confirm that these specs match your trailer. You can run the brake lines thru the tongue, you just need to make sure and use a flexible line in the fold-away section. If you need all new brake...

  • Which Surge Brake Actuator Do I Need for a 1999-2000 Ranger Boat Trailer?
Hello Randall, I recently went through this same repair on my own 2004 Ranger Comanche trailer. A lot of the older UFP actuators are reaching the age where replacement becomes necessary, so you're definitely not alone. Many Ranger boat trailers from that era were equipped with UFP-style surge brake actuators. If your trailer has the UFP-style actuator that matches the Dexter DX7.5L design, the Replacement Inner Member for Dexter DX7.5L Actuator # DX39FR is the replacement I used and it...

  • Looking For Brake Line With 3/8" - 24 Threads With Male And Female Ends
Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out. We do have a 3/8" - 24 brake line with male and female ends, but nothing that is exactly 14" long. Would an 18" long hose work? We do have that available as part # T0776500. Or does your setup require a line that is exactly 14" long?

  • Using Surge Brake Actuator on Trailer with Fold-Away Coupler Hinge
If your trailer is equipped with a fold-away coupler hinge like # FHDPB330301 then you can still use a surge brake actuator like the excellent Zinc-Plated # 099-175-20. The only thing you will want to add is a flexible brake line across the hinge like the Titan # T0776500 to accommodate this function. Please note that the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR35D referenced in your question includes rotor-and-hub assemblies, calipers, mounting brackets, and mounting bolts but it does not include...

  • Flexible Brake Hose for Trailer with Folding Tongue and Hydraulic Brakes
Flexible brake line # T0776500 is designed with 3/8"-24 UNF male and female fittings on the ends so provided that is what your existing line uses then this hose will work for you. Otherwise you would either need a line that matches what you have now or you would need adapter fittings to use hose # T0776500. But this hose is a very common size so it will likely work without the need of adapter fittings.

  • Adding Surge Actuator to Trailer with Swing Away Hinge and Hydraulic Brakes
I would assume the trailer uses drum brakes so what you could do is install the Demco Hydraulic Surge Actuator part # DM8608601 for a surge setup that would attach to the brake line you have now. Since it's a swing away you will need to use a flexible line to connect before the hinge and after like with the part # T0776500.

  • Replacement 18 Inch Long Brake Line with Male and Female 3/16 Inch Fittings
For a replacement brake line I recommend the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings # T0776500. This brake line is 18-25/32" long, has a male and female end, and has 3/8"-24 UNF fittings. The thread size on 3/16" fittings is 3/8"-24 so this will be the same as the hose you have now. I have attached a review video for your reference.

It looks like that is a piece of flexible brake line you are using. You would need standard flexible brake line with a 3/8 inch male fitting. We offer them in varying lengths. A 13 inch long brake line with fittings (male on one end, female on the other) is available as part # T0777300, 18-25/32 inch length as part # T0776500 or a 25 inch long line is available as part # T0980100. • What Surge Brake Actuator do I Need to Replace Mine on 21' Boat Trailer with Fold Away Tongue?
Hello Vince, It sounds like are running into a similar situation as I did with my 2004 Ranger trailer about 3 weeks. I got home from a day of fishing at Lake of the Ozarks and went out to the garage the next day to find a whole lot of brake fluid on the ground. Not a great surprise. Yes, you can just order the inner member of the surge brake actuator and slide it right into your fold-away tongue. I attached a picture of mine so you can see exactly what I’m talking about. • Replacement Brake Line With Fittings For Titan Model 60 Actuator
I took a look at your Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K, and I do not think that's a quick disconnect line, I actually believe what you're needing is: - The Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings # T0776500. This line measures 18-25/32" long, and connects hydraulic brake actuator to trailer brakes. Both ends of this line are fitted with 3/8"-24 UNF male and female fittings. If this is too short for you let me know and I can see if we have a longer line for you.

Sounds like you have a surge brake coupler on your trailer currently and are looking for a way to convert it to an electric over hydraulic setup and then also add brakes to your third axle. The electric over hydraulic actuator I like the best is the Cargo Towing Solutions HydraStar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16. I have included the installation video for you as well. For a brake actuator, the Dexter Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes # 099-175-20 is a great fit. • Flexible Hydraulic Brake Line Hose for Trailer Brakes
We have brake line # T0776500 that is fitted with 3/8"-24 thread UNF male and female fittings on the ends. I have also included a link to all of the flexible brake lines we currently offer.

  • Flexible Brake Hose with Swivel Fittings on the Ends
The ends of brake hose # T0776500 are fixed and do not swivel. Normally on the components you are threading this onto one of them would have a swivel so you would thread the hose onto the fixed component first and then attach the end that threads onto the swivel. We also have hose # 18018-SF with a 90 degree bend on one end and the thread piece separate. Kodiak hose # BH-3MFS-1-5 has swivel fittings on both ends and it is 18 inches long so it may be the best option for you.

  • Is a New Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Required When Converting from Drum to Disc Brakes
Yes you will need a new electric over hydraulic actuator to go from drum to disc as the disc brake setups require a higher psi rating. The best option is the HydraStar part # HBA16 as it has the best reputation for reliability and is the fastest reacting as well so it's what we recommend the highest. Since you are going to disc brakes you'll need a flexible line to go from the caliper to the axle since the caliper moves. For that you'd want the part # # T0776500 .
